Domain, Hosting and SSL Policy
Host Engines · hostengines.com · Effective 28 October 2026 · Governing law: Federal Republic of Nigeria
This policy sets out the terms on which the included domain name, web hosting and SSL certificate are provided, renewed and, where necessary, suspended.
1. Domain Name
- One (1) domain name is registered for the Initial Term. Registration is subject to availability and to the rules of the relevant registry or registrar, including the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) for .ng domains.
- The Client is the registrant of the domain and is responsible for the accuracy of registrant details. False registrant details may result in suspension or cancellation by the registry.
- We will not register domain names that infringe trademarks, impersonate others or are otherwise unlawful. We may decline or cancel such a registration.
- The Client may request transfer of the domain to another registrar after the registry’s lock period and after all amounts owed to us have been paid. Transfer fees charged by third parties, if any, are payable by the Client.
2. Web Hosting
- Hosting is provided on shared infrastructure for the Initial Term, with resource allocations stated at the time of the offer or on our website.
- Hosting is subject to a fair-use policy. Excessive resource use that threatens the stability of other users may result in a request to upgrade, throttling or suspension.
- We run regular backups of hosted websites on a reasonable-efforts basis, but the Client remains responsible for keeping its own copies of important content.
- We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be notified where practicable.
3. SSL Certificate
An SSL certificate is installed for the Initial Term to enable HTTPS on the Client’s domain. Certificates are issued by certificate authorities and subject to their validation requirements. The Client must not take actions that prevent issuance or renewal during the Initial Term.
4. Initial Term and Renewal
- The Initial Term is twelve (12) months from the Delivery Date.
- We will send renewal reminders to the Client’s registered email address and WhatsApp number approximately [thirty (30)] days and [seven (7)] days before expiry.
- Renewal is payable at Host Engines’ then-current renewal rates, published at hostengines.com or provided on request. Renewal fees are not part of the ₦79,000 promo price.
- Services do not renew automatically unless the Client has agreed to this in writing.
5. Expiry, Suspension and Deletion
- If services are not renewed by the expiry date, the Website may be suspended.
- A grace period of [fourteen (14)] days applies, during which the Client may renew without penalty or loss of content, subject to registry rules for domain names.
- After the grace period, hosted files and databases may be permanently deleted after a further [thirty (30)] days. We are not liable for loss of content after that period.
- Domain names not renewed may enter the registry’s redemption period and may incur additional restoration fees set by the registry.
6. Security and Account Access
The Client should use strong passwords and keep credentials confidential. We may suspend access where we reasonably suspect a security compromise, malware or unlawful activity, and will notify the Client as soon as practicable.
